After the release of the new Apple iPhone 3G there have been many reviews of the product. Overall, most find the product an improvement from the first iPhone and are generally favorable towards it. There are still some drawbacks, however.
Just a few of the new improved features include: improved sound quality with a metal grill over the earpiece and speaker, louder volume making it easier to hear and be heard, improved reception and a GPS application are just a few.
Some of the features that were less favorable included: no removable SD card, no removable battery and no video recording.

Cell phones in Japan are quite different than those the U.S. – even Apple’s iPhone. Most of their cell phones are become even too complicate to master and the average person only uses 5 to 10 percent of the functions actually available on the phone. While in the U.S. people beginning to use their cell phones as their MP3 player as well; in Japan people use their cell phones as a mini 3-inch TV, a game system – with Wii-style sensor games and high quality camera.
It’s unclear whether Japanese consumers will ditch their complicated cell phones for the easy-to-use iPhone. There are varying opinions about this. A survey showed just more than half of those polled showed interest in buying one, however less than one-fifth knew what an iPhone was. Then there are those who believe people may just buy the iPhone as an upgraded iPod and not their main phone. The iPhone will be sold in Japan by the end of the year.

More and more states are banning the use of hand held cell phones while driving. No state has prohibited the use of hands-free phones. However, California, New York, Washington D.C. and Connecticut are among the states that have banned the use of handheld cell phones while driving and consider it a primary offense – which means you can be ticketed even if you are not violating any other traffic laws.
Studies show that 80% of all crashes and 65% of all near-crashes are directly related to a distracted driver. Other distractions that are also being banned include: text messaging, smoking, eating drinking etc.
