Metallica’s ninth and newest album, “Death Magnetic” is currently number 1 on the album chart; however some fans are bitterly disappointed. They are not disappointed by the songs or the performance, but by the volume. They are saying it is so loud you can’t hear the details of the music.

After more than 10 years of music-video showcase, “Total Request Live” or “TRL” will be taken off the air. The show ran on MTV between 1998 and 2008 and will draw to a close in November.
To replace the Friday night slot that TRL currently holds will be FNMTV, which will feature more music videos in their entirety, have life performances and much more!
Lily Allen and Elton John co-hosted Britain’s GQ Men of the Year awards. Elton John went after Lily Allen’s drinking habits where as Allen commented on John’s age.
The Cleveland-based Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has decided to open up a shop in New York! The museum first opened up thirteen years ago in Ohio, and is now seeking to win new fans in the city’s big donor community. The annex will be opened among the galleries and boutiques of the SoHo neighborhood.
The nonprofit organization is reaching beyond a music industry in turmoil and celebrating New York’s rich rock history. The annex will include memorabilia, such as Bruce Springsteen’s first car.

The Fashion Rocks show celebrates the intersections of fashion and music. This year’s show will feature several artists including: Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Rihanna. The show will be help at RadioCityMusic Hall on September 5th and will air on CBS the following night.
